Troubleshoot Your Microsoft Cordless Mouse Problems

Microsoft is best known for their operating systems, and other supporting software. The software giant not only provides software solutions, but some special hardware devices as well. The cordless mouse is one of most popular hardware devices that they have launched. However, this also has some troubles, like the unsteady movement of mouse pointer. Try the following instructions provided by Microsoft solution center, to fix these problems.

Instructions

If the mouse doesn't respond, or if the pointer moves unsteadily, you might need to resynchronize the mouse with the receiver. For that, press the button that you can find on the receiver. Now you can see a light that flashes on the mouse. Press and hold the Connect Channel button that you can find on the bottom of the mouse. Make sure that the receiver is connected to the USB jack, and that a green light appears on it. Once you see the green light on the receiver, you can be sure that the mouse and the receiver are synchronized.
If you cannot synchronize the receiver with the mouse, or the pointer still moves erratically even after you try the above methods, the problem might be with the USB jack. Therefore, plug the mouse to a different jack, and repeat the above step. While you connect the receiver to a USB port, make sure that you connect it to one in an actual PC.
If you still find trouble with your mouse, change the batteries of the Mouse and try again.
In order to test whether if there is any problem of your computer, connect the receiver to another computer and try to synchronize again. If it works well on that computer, you can understand that the problem is with your computer.
If you still have problems with your mouse, look for other wireless networks that might interfere with the signals of the mouse. Since the wireless mouse works on the same frequency as that of the old cordless phones and Wi-Fi routers, there are chances of interference if such active devices are nearby. Apart from these devices, the Microsoft wireless mouse could affect the interference from monitors, speakers and microwaves as well. Turn off these devices one by one, and try if you can to fix the problem with the mouse.

The instructions given above are useful to find and eliminate the problem with the Microsoft Cordless mouse. Contact Microsoft solution center for further assistance regarding the cordless mouse.
